Junior Category Manager – Fruit

Main Responsibilities

  • Analyze market data, customer insights, and competitor activities to support category development.
  • Manage a defined product group within the Fruit category (e.g., tropical fruit, imported fruit).
  • Propose assortment changes (new listings, delisting, product updates) to ensure competitive range and availability.
  • Negotiate basic trading terms, seasonal deals, and promotional offers with selected suppliers.
  • Monitor sales performance, margin, stock levels, and out-of-stock situations; propose corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with Marketing, Supply Chain, and Store Operations to ensure successful execution of promotions and product availability.
  • Support financial tracking: sales, margins, promotional effectiveness.
  • Prepare regular category performance reports for management review.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Supply Chain, or related fields.
  • 2–3 years of experience in merchandising, category management, or fresh produce (retail background preferred).
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and retail management systems.
  • English: intermediate communication.
