The Commercial Manager is responsible for delivering financial and commercial targets for the assigned department/category, including budget achievement, profitable market share growth, and working capital optimization. This role drives category strategy, customer-centric assortment, pricing and promotion plans, and strong supplier partnerships across multiple banners, formats, and channels.
ACTIVITIES

1. Financial & Business Performance
- Be accountable for delivering financial KPIs, including budget, sales growth, margin, and working capital targets for the assigned department/category.
- Monitor category performance and take corrective actions to improve profitability and business results.
2. Category Strategy & Range Management
- Collaborate with Business Unit partners to develop and implement the category strategic plan in line with banner priorities, customer needs, and marketing direction.
- Source and develop a customer-centric product range that delivers attractive value propositions across all banners.
- Manage assigned sub-categories across multiple banners, formats, and channels simultaneously.
3. Pricing, Promotion & Forecasting
- Prepare and monitor category budgets, demand forecasts, and planning assumptions.
- Define and manage pricing and promotion policies to ensure competitiveness and profitability.
- Monitor promotion execution and conduct post-promotion reviews at banner level to evaluate effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
4. Supplier Management & Negotiation
- Build long-term strategic partnerships with key suppliers based on customer-focused joint business plans.
- Lead supplier negotiations on trading terms, commercial conditions, pricing, and promotional support.
- Ensure supplier performance supports category growth, service levels, and financial targets.
5. Execution & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure effective category execution and alignment across functions.
- Support store execution compliance to ensure category business models and value proposition programs are implemented consistently.
- Coordinate with relevant teams to resolve operational or commercial issues impacting category performance.
6. Other Responsibilities
- Carry out other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the line manager.

REQUIRED BACKGROUND & ATTITUDE

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Marketing, Economics, or related fields
Seniority: 2-3 years relevant experience in commercial, category management, buying, or merchandising roles
Language: Fluent in English & Vietnamese
Office skills: Excel, Power point, and MS word
Attitude: Proactive, accountable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
