Category Manager - Private Label (NonFood)

MISSION

Lead the development and execution of private label product strategies across assigned Homeline categories, ensuring alignment with commercial targets, pricing policies, and supplier capabilities. Coordinate product development and supply chain execution with internal stakeholders and centralized design/marketing teams to deliver cost-efficient, high-quality, and competitive private label products.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

SCOPE: Homeline – Private Label

Function: Category management

  • Develop winning strategy of the category in private label assortment, sales, and margin and achieve budgeted goals
  • Take a responsibility on full life cycle of the private label products in responsible category from sourcing till exit the product from the shelf.

Market analysis: Dive deep into data and understand customer trend & demands. After then define right product specifications (Product, Flavor, Pack size, Color, Ingredient and Design) to develop as a private label following customer demand of the market.

Set sourcing strategy and develop a product accordingly

  • Set a sourcing strategy of the product & category such as price positioning, margin, contract condition, and promotion plan etc.,
  • Identify potential suppliers who are proven based on CRV quality assurance process
  • Conduct strong negotiation with the supplier and finalize supplier selection
  • Lead panel & laboratory test and factory audit by collaborating with QA Dept
  • Manage every single product development step to be on track.

Merchandising

  • Manage supplier contracts, control pricing, supply chain, stock, and store implementation
  • Close communication with the other commercial department to set a commercial activity regularly in timely manner.

Communication

  • Collaborate with every internal & external stakeholder and manager in the category responsible
  • Build up strong supplier relationships by obtaining alignment and developing and delivering on mutually established goals
  • Identify customer communication to introduce our own brand to the market.

Negotiation: Negotiation with local & global suppliers for making right pricing as well as optimizing profitability.

Design and Marketing: Coordinate with Private Label Marketing and Design team to align on design of the developed product.

REQUIREMENTS

Functional skills:

  • Full ownership of Category P&L (sales, margin, OTB, pricing, stock rotation)
  • Proven ability to develop and execute Homeline/Private Label category strategy (Furnitre, Culture, Textile, Bedding, …)
  • Strong experience in international and deal-based sourcing (off-price, outlet, treasure hunt)
  • Advanced analytical capability with strong command of key retail KPIs
  • Ability to convert market trends, customer insights, and data into commercial actions
  • Strong cross-functional leadership across Sourcing, Supply Chain, VM, Trade Marketing, E-commerce, and StoresWell-organized.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Supply Chain, Marketing, or related fields.

Experience: 3–5 years of experience in Category Management, Buying, Merchandising, or Commercial roles within Homeline/ Non-Food retail.

Language: Fluent in Vietnamese, proficiency in English.

Office skills: proficient in MS Office, Excel, experienced with ERP / retail systems (SAP or equivalent) is preferred.

Attitude: Hardworking, strong ownership mindset, commercially driven, result-oriented, and comfortable working under pressure.
